Way too many tour groups—so noisy and crowded that it really killed the mood for sightseeing!

There were so many loud tour groups from mainland China, especially women shouting while shopping like it was a market. The men just gathered together, walking around and smoking.

I thought the "8 Springs" would be huge and take a long time to walk around, but it turned out they're just eight small ponds. I almost laughed out loud when the tour guide was explaining it. 🤭

You can see Mt. Fuji from here, but there are just too many people. Also, some of the tourists aren't very well-behaved.

There are only eight ponds, so you can see them all pretty quickly. There were a lot of tourists, and everyone crowded into the shops. It felt like a bit of a waste of time.

The air is so fresh and the ponds are crystal clear with amazing visibility. It's such a great place to live—I bet people here easily live to be a hundred! 🤭

The spring water is super clear and clean. It tastes really sweet, and I bet it would be fantastic for making tea.

The peaceful countryside vibe and the locals' simplicity really stand out. The pickled veggies are delicious, and the tofu made with pure, clean water is a must-try. Plus, the view of Mt. Fuji in the distance makes this place fantastic.

When walking from the parking lot to Oshino Hakkai, make sure to follow the signs or you might get lost. Along the way, you can see local farmers selling their homegrown fruits and veggies at unmanned stands—just put your money in the little box if you want to buy something. Rural Japan really feels so genuine and safe 👍

The water here is crystal clear and totally unpolluted. They say it's melted snow from the top of Mt. Fuji that comes up from underground. You can see lots of fish swimming around freely. On clear days, you can even see Mt. Fuji from here. There's a shop nearby where you can try fresh tofu with spicy miso—so good! You can also buy the local specialty kusa mochi, which has a chewy, slightly grilled skin and a sweet filling inside.
