The crystal-clear spring ponds at Oshino Hakkai are breathtaking. The peaceful, beautiful surroundings and majestic views of Mt. Fuji make you feel like you've stepped into a painting.
Strolling through the area, you can soak in the charm of nature and the traditional village. It's a relaxing spot that's well worth a visit.
I originally thought it would just be a few ponds, but it had way more charm in person than I expected. The thatched roofs, flowing water, and Mt. Fuji all go so well together. It’s not just a spot for photos of Mt. Fuji, but also a place with a wonderful Japanese countryside atmosphere. Walking through the little village felt really relaxing.
Seeing Mt. Fuji so clearly at Oshino Hakkai was truly stunning, and I felt so lucky 😍
The cherry blossoms at Oshino Hakkai are absolutely dreamy. Mt. Fuji with those soft pink blossoms, plus the crystal-clear spring water, makes the scenery unbelievably beautiful!
The pond color looks kind of unreal—so blue it seems like there’s a filter on it—but it’s actually real.
Oshino Hakkai is worth taking a full day to explore slowly and really soak in.
Some of the ponds are honestly pretty tiny, but with the surrounding scenery and reflections, it still has a special charm.
When I went in November, I got to try some insanely delicious Shine Muscat grapes!
The water in the ponds is super clean and tastes really fresh and sweet. The little shops are also a lot of fun to browse.
The Japanese-style buildings along the way feel really rural and simple. The pond water is super clear, but there are just too many tourists and it's pretty noisy, which kind of ruins the vibe.
The spring water here comes from Mt. Fuji's melted snow, which takes time to filter through the ground before bubbling up. The water is super clear and refreshing—just one sip tastes so pure and sweet. There are also stalls selling wasabi tofu and grilled kusa-mochi nearby. It gets pretty crowded with tour groups.
The food sold here is really tasty. You can enjoy delicious snacks while taking in the beautiful spring water and the view of Mt. Fuji.
