Kinrin Lake is actually really small—more like a pond. You can finish your visit and snap some photos in about five minutes. 😓

It's easy for mist to form on the surface of the lake, giving the whole place a dreamy and mysterious vibe.

The scenery here is beautiful all year round, no matter the season.

The hot spring water mixes with the lake, making it really unique. I recommend coming early in the morning during winter to catch photos of the steam rising from the lake.

Yufuin is one of the most popular tourist spots in Kyushu, and Kinrin Lake is right there. The whole area is really scenic and it's one of my personal favorites.

When the sunlight hits the lake, the whole surface sparkles. With the mist floating around, it really feels like a fairyland.
