In January this year, I made an offering for 'family safety' and 'warding off evil' at Taga Taisha Shrine. Later, I received a letter saying that my prayer for 'prosperity' was the first one offered to the shrine's deity this year. However, I experienced a recurrence of cancer in my left eye, a car accident, and had to quit my job—one misfortune after another.
I made a second offering for 'family safety' and 'warding off evil' as well, but honestly, I didn't feel any blessings.
