At Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe, a hugely popular family attraction in Hokkaido, the most anticipated event is the star performance, the “Penguin Parade”! Watching a group of penguins waddle across the grass up close is truly adorable and heartwarming. Staff members kindly guide visitors from both sides, allowing everyone to closely observe the penguins' irresistibly cute movements and expressive faces. The park is themed around a romantic Nordic castle aquarium. In addition to the exciting penguin parade, there are dolphin and sea lion shows, making it a fun, dreamy attraction that absolutely shouldn't be missed on an independent trip to Noboribetsu, Hokkaido!

At Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe, what I looked forward to most was watching the marine animal shows! There were adorable sea lions and dolphins, and the atmosphere was very lively. They captured everyone's attention as soon as they appeared.
The sea lion show was very entertaining. They were agile and smart, following commands to perform all kinds of tricks, and I couldn't stop taking pictures. The dolphins that came next were even more exciting. Their jumps, spins, and other moves were all very sharp, and the crowd cheered nonstop every time they leaped out of the water!

Travel Notes from Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe in Hokkaido, Japan
Our Hokkaido trip brought us to Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe, a marine world that looks like a fairy-tale castle. Upon entering the park, the first thing that caught our eye was the magnificent red-brick castle. It stood out against the deep blue sky and became an unforgettable sight on our journey.
As we strolled through the park, we enjoyed the European-style streetscape and Ferris wheel, but the rich variety of marine life inside was even more impressive. Schools of tropical fish swam through enormous tanks, while colorful coral and reefs created a vivid underwater world. Walking through the transparent underwater tunnel, with fish swimming overhead, was also a fascinating experience.
We took photos in front of the aquarium, capturing the joy and emotion of this trip. Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe is more than just a place to see marine life. It feels like a journey combining castles, nature, and fairy tales, adding romance and surprise to our Hokkaido trip and leaving us with wonderful memories to look back on. -

At Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe, you definitely can’t miss the adorable seal show! As soon as I saw the seals’ round bodies and cute expressions, I felt so comforted. The show hadn’t even started yet, and I was already reaching for my phone to take pictures. The atmosphere was also very lively.
Once the show began, the seals followed the staff’s instructions and performed various tricks. Every now and then, they would look up at the audience, and they were just unbelievably cute. Watching them work hard to complete each trick, with laughter coming from the audience from time to time, made the entire show thoroughly enjoyable.
The seal show was what impressed me most during this visit to Noboribetsu Marine Park Nixe! Seeing them up close, they were even cuter than I had imagined and so comforting to watch. Setting aside some time to see them really left me with a very sweet and unforgettable memory.

I can only say there were just too many people, mostly tourists.

A must-visit in Noboribetsu (NIXE Marine Park).
It's a great spot for both adults and kids. It's pretty rare to find a marine park like this in Hokkaido! There are lots of shows—the penguin parade is the main attraction here, and most visitors come just for that.Finding food here might seem tricky, but don't worry! The park isn't huge, but it has everything you need. Most people go for the all-you-can-eat sukiyaki, but there are other restaurants and snacks (like ice cream) that I totally recommend!
(The photo shows the Ferris wheel that's only open for kids in summer—super cute!)

Most of the visitors inside were tour groups from Taiwan. I barely saw any Japanese people.

The penguin walk, paired with upbeat music, is such a highlight! Watching the king penguins parade up close is definitely the main attraction.
