The Tenmonkan shopping arcade is great for browsing, and the entire street is covered. It's packed with restaurants and drugstores. When you're here, you definitely have to try the famous black pork tonkatsu—the meat is tender, juicy, and so satisfying. After your meal, don't forget to try the traditional Shirokuma shaved ice. The fluffy shaved ice topped with plenty of fruit and condensed milk is pure bliss.

If you want to go shopping, I recommend Tenmonkan Shopping Street, Kagoshima's liveliest shopping district. It's a covered arcade that provides shade and shelter from the rain, making it pleasant to explore in any weather.

Stationery and lifestyle goods lovers shouldn't miss LOFT on the corner. You'll find all kinds of designer stationery, planner stickers, and Japanese-style goods, and could easily spend an hour or two browsing. This is also a hub for classic Kagoshima cuisine: for dessert, stop by the original shop that created Shirokuma shaved ice to try the most authentic and super-cute version; for dinner, I recommend visiting one of the area's famous kurobuta restaurants and enjoying shabu-shabu made with Kagoshima black pork, known for its delicate texture and sweet flavor. Food, drinks, and shopping all in one place—it's a must-visit landmark for experiencing Kagoshima's local energy!
