I went in the summer. The weather that day kept switching between rain and no rain, so it was a shame I couldn’t see the lake in its vivid colors. I’d love to come back on a sunny day!

This lake is surrounded by mountains and forests, and the water is crystal clear. The scenery around it is absolutely stunning. You can hike around and explore the natural beauty, as well as observe the local wildlife.

The view of Mt. Akan from the observatory is absolutely stunning. This is a hidden natural gem in Hokkaido.
