When I visited Odori Park, Hokkaido's winter snow season had just begun. The streetscape decorations along the way were truly colorful and dazzling. Unfortunately, I was on a group tour and didn't have time to stop and walk around, so I could only enjoy the view from the bus. If I get another chance, I'll definitely come back.

When visiting Sapporo, Odori Park is a must-see attraction in the city center. The park stretches along the street, lined with trees and flowers on both sides. Set against the city buildings in the distance, it offers a relaxing and spacious view.

The afternoon sunlight filters through the greenery, and the gentle breeze makes you slow down and enjoy the leisurely pace of the trip. Along the way, I took in the cityscape, snapped some photos, and experienced the relaxed pace of local life.

Compared with bustling tourist attractions, Odori Park feels more natural and unhurried. Walking through it was comfortable and relaxing, making it one of my favorite stops on this trip to Hokkaido.

Odori Park stretches all the way from 1-chome to 12-chome. I didn’t walk the whole thing this time, so next time I definitely want to go from end to end.

11-chome and 12-chome have a romantic rose garden. Although the early-summer roses weren’t in full bloom yet, they were still beautiful enough to make me stop and admire them.

At 3-chome and 4-chome, they sell the super popular grilled corn, and I definitely recommend trying it! The corn itself isn’t as tasty as the corn in Taiwan, but the sauce is absolutely delicious and makes you want to keep taking bite after bite. The stalls only accept cash, so I recommend preparing about JPY 600–1,200 in advance so you can enjoy it without worry.

Odori Park has a relaxed vibe during the day, and once the lights come on at night, it turns into a completely different romantic scene. Strolling slowly through the park, watching the lights glow among the trees and fountains with the Sapporo TV Tower in the distance, it’s so beautiful you’ll keep pressing the shutter.

In winter, the snow makes the whole city feel even more magical. No wonder this is one of the night views you shouldn’t miss when visiting Sapporo. Next time you come to Hokkaido, be sure to save one evening for Odori Park and enjoy a romantic moment that feels uniquely Sapporo.

Odori Park is right in the center of Sapporo. The Sapporo Snow Festival in winter is really popular, and there are lots of small stalls in the venue where you can buy Hokkaido souvenirs and gifts.

It's right in the city center, close to department stores and near Tanukikoji. There's even an underground walkway below that connects to the train station.
