The moment I stepped onto the streets of Lake Toya Onsen, there was a faint scent of sulfur and hot spring water in the air. I naturally slowed down and began to relax. The most appealing part is soaking in a hot spring while admiring the lake and mountains. Especially when staying at a hotel with a lake view, immersing yourself in the warm natural hot spring water while looking out at the mirror-like lake and distant mountains makes the day’s fatigue disappear instantly.

Every summer, I come to Lake Toya to watch the fireworks! The famous Lake Toya Long Run Fireworks Festival happens every year, with about 450 fireworks going off over the lake for around 20 minutes. If you're staying by the lake, you definitely shouldn't miss it!

Lake Toya is ranked as the third most beautiful volcanic lake in Japan! My favorite part is definitely the Lake Toya Onsen. There's a hot spring street along the lakeside with lots of upscale hotels, all facing the lake. You get gorgeous lake views from your room, and you can even watch fireworks shows! 👍
