The area is filled with unique shops, American vintage clothing, trendy fashion, and international cuisine. At night, the illuminated riverside takes on a romantic and enchanting international atmosphere. Whether you come to shop, enjoy the food, or take a leisurely stroll, you can fully experience Okinawa's unique American flair!

Okinawa's American Village has a strong international atmosphere, with colorful buildings and a waterfront promenade that make you feel as though you're on the coast of California. In the evening, sit on the seaside jetty and watch the afterglow of the sunset. The golden sunset is mesmerizingly beautiful. Besides being great for shopping and photos, you can also enjoy popular, freshly made authentic Okinawan rice balls and sata andagi, traditional Okinawan doughnuts that are crisp outside, soft inside, and sweet and delicious. It's a distinctive spot that perfectly combines beautiful scenery with delicious local food!

The “Vintage House” inside Huis Ten Bosch is just too cute! The storefront has a nostalgic, international feel, especially the row of tropical floral patterns on the balcony. Just looking at it put me in a great mood.

Stepping inside was even more delightful—it’s practically paradise for Hello Kitty fans. Look at this Kitty in a little black dress, pearl necklace, and Audrey Hepburn-style bow. She has such an elegant vintage look and is incredibly detailed.

The wall covered with Kitty charms is also impressive. There are so many different designs that it’s almost overwhelming, and I wanted to take every one of them home. Being able to visit such a special Kitty-themed store in such a beautiful park made me so happy!

During this visit, what I liked most was the variety of architectural styles and cute displays everywhere. Even just walking around, there are plenty of great photo opportunities. When you get tired, you can stop at a restaurant for some food or a drink and leisurely enjoy the Okinawan sunshine and sea breeze.

American Village is even more beautiful in the evening. After the sun slowly sets, the street lights gradually come on, creating an even more romantic atmosphere. This trip wasn't just about shopping; I also got to experience Okinawa's unique American culture. It's a place that feels both relaxing and vibrant.

When I arrived at American Village in Okinawa, my first impression was that it felt very different from the Okinawa I had imagined. The streets are filled with colorful buildings, distinctive signs, and all kinds of small shops. Toward evening, the sunset slowly turns the sky orange-red, and together with American Village's colorful streetscape, it creates an especially romantic atmosphere. It's a great place to take a leisurely stroll and browse around.

There are American-style restaurants and burger places, as well as Okinawa-exclusive snacks and souvenirs. Even though you're in Japan, it almost feels like you've suddenly stepped into a small American town. This area was once land associated with a U.S. military base, and because of the long-standing influence of American culture, it gradually developed into the international-style neighborhood it is today.

If I could only fit in one place to shop while visiting Okinawa, I'd probably choose this one!

American Village is really distinctive. Walking in feels like you've been instantly transported to America, with small shops, restaurants, and colorful buildings that make you want to keep taking pictures. Every corner is photogenic.

You'll find not only American-style burgers, steaks, and huge portions, but also authentic Okinawan cuisine and all kinds of Okinawa-exclusive souvenirs, so you can enjoy two different styles in one place. When you get tired of shopping, you can soak in a natural hot spring or sit by the ocean and watch the sunset. It's all so relaxing.

I especially recommend staying from late afternoon through the evening. Street performers and magic shows appear one after another, and once the lights come on at night, it feels even more romantic. It gets livelier as the night goes on, so you'll never be bored.

This really isn't just a shopping center. It's a place where you can eat, drink, have fun, take pictures, relax, and spend the whole day. It's easy to lose track of time and not want to leave!
