Yokohama Marine Tower is one of Yokohama’s Three Towers and was once recognized by Guinness World Records as the tallest lighthouse in the world. Its main functions are sightseeing, observation, and guiding marine traffic. The tower is 106 meters tall and has two observation floors offering 360-degree views of Yokohama Port, Yokohama Bay Bridge, and the cityscape. The night view is especially romantic.

When I came to Yokohama, I could see the tall Yokohama Marine Tower standing prominently from far away. Although I didn't go up close to visit it this time, even admiring it from a distance, I felt that the tower really captured the character of Yokohama Port.

As one of Yokohama's most iconic landmarks, Yokohama Marine Tower offers uniquely romantic nighttime views of the port city! Since reopening after renovations, the tower has been illuminated at night, giving off a dazzling glow that's visually striking even when viewed from the ground.
From the observation deck high above, you can take in Minato Mirai 21, the Yokohama Bay Bridge, and the city's glittering nightscape all at once. The tower also features art exhibits, a restaurant with a view, and a stylish café. Its elegant, romantic atmosphere makes it perfect for a date or as the ideal finale to a day trip in Yokohama!

Located next to Yamashita Park, Yokohama Marine Tower was originally a lighthouse, and its renovated steel-frame exterior gives it a modern feel.

While it may not be the tallest landmark, its location is actually a great advantage if you want to see the ocean or watch ships coming in and out of Yamashita Pier. If you happen to be taking a walk through Yamashita Park, it’s worth stopping by the observation deck for a different view of Yokohama Port.

The night view from the Marine Tower is a must-see. As evening falls, the whole tower and the surrounding area light up with gorgeous illuminations, creating a romantic and dreamy atmosphere.
