Shiga Kogen Yakebitaiyama Ski Resort
Shiga Kogen Yakebitaiyama Ski Resort, located in Yamanouchi Town, Shimotakai District, Nagano Prefecture, is renowned as one of the venues of the 1998 Winter Olympics. The resort offers 20 courses in total, known for its “Platinum Powder”-exceptionally dry and light snow.
Yakebitaiyama really lives up to its reputation as one of Japan’s well-known ski resorts. Besides having Olympic-level slopes, there’s also a gondola that takes you straight to the summit.
The scenery along the way is gorgeous, and it’s definitely worth setting aside a full day to ski at a relaxed pace.
