Mt. Omuro
Omuro Mountain, an independent peak with an altitude of 580m, is located in Ito City, Shizuoka Prefecture. This volcano, which looks like an overturned bowl, is a beloved symbol of the Izu Plateau. Formed by volcanic activity about 4000 years ago, Omuro Mountain is a nationally designated natural monument and the largest scoria cone in the eastern Izu Volcanic Group.
When you reach the top of Mt. Omuro, it feels like you're so close to the sky. Especially on a clear day, the fresh air and the views of both the mountains and the sea really lift your spirits.
