Sendai Jogai Ichiba, Mori no Ichiba
Located near Sendai’s Central Wholesale Market, Sendai Jogai Ichiba was established with the goal of revitalizing Tohoku's rural and fishing communities while showcasing the region's abundant food treasures nationwide. Designed as a modern "Japanese marché”, the market offers a rich food experience.
I’d recommend this place if you’re buying veggies or sashimi, but for restaurants you really need to research before you walk in!!
One thing to note: the nearby Central Wholesale Market is run by a totally unrelated company.
I went to Uogashidokoro Sen on a Friday afternoon, and they served me a seafood bowl topped with fish that looked discolored and dried out… Like, is this even okay?
And it was close to 3,000 yen.
If it looks like there are only foreign staff around, seriously, you should skip it. The best thing I had was the wakame.
