Okuhida Bear’s Farm
At the Okuhida Bear’s Farm, about 100 bears are kept, and you can interact with them throughout the year. At the "snack feeding experience," you can feed the bears as they beg for food with cute gestures. Each bear has its own unique pose and is a must-see.
🚨 DON'T SUPPORT 🚨
Tiny concrete enclosures, cubs in cages, no natural vegetation or stimulation, and bears repeatedly standing, pawing and begging for food from visitors. This is not how bears should live.
After seeing the conditions the bears are kept in, I decided against visiting.
Being open throughout winter means the bears cannot follow their natural seasonal hibernation cycle. Reviews have also reported bears eating their own faeces, rough handling of cubs and a lack of enrichment.
I didn’t visit personally, but I strongly encourage anyone considering going to look into the welfare of these animals before supporting the attraction.
