Just about an hour by train from Tokyo, this massive shopping center is located right in front of Koshigaya Lake Town Station.
This outlet is huge! Luckily, we planned out the brands and items we wanted to buy ahead of time. Everyone split up to shop and then met up at a restaurant to share our finds before browsing more. Otherwise, your feet will be super sore after a whole day here!
Irori Dining in Shirakawa-go
Near the Ogi-machi Bridge over the Shogawa River, this dining spot in Shirakawa-go offers local Hida cuisine in a Gassho-zukuri farmhouse. Using locally sourced ingredients, guests can savor the region's traditional dishes.
They use super fresh local ingredients to make delicious regional dishes. The flavors are really different from what I usually eat—highly recommended!
Izu Kokeshi Studio Main Shop
In 1915, a wooden craftsman was dispatched to Ginzan Onsen from the prefecture, leading to the creation of the toy known as "Ginzan Kokeshi." After being featured in the 1983 morning serial drama "Oshin," it's also been called "Oshin Kokeshi," gaining popularity as a souvenir from Ginzan Onsen. Now, the only place crafting "Ginzan Kokeshi" is the "Izu Kokeshi Studio." Passed down from generation to generation, it's also known as "Izu Kokeshi."
These dolls are so detailed and cute! If you're looking for a local souvenir, I definitely suggest picking one up.
Shinobazu Pond
Shinobazu Pond, a natural pond spanning about 2 kilometers in circumference, is situated at the southern end of Ueno Park, Japan's first urban park covering an extensive area of about 530,000 square meters. The name "Shinobazu Pond" is said to originate from the area once known as Shinobazu Hill, located between the Ueno and Hongo plateaus (there are various theories).
At Shinobazu Pond, you can enjoy both a walk and boating while viewing cherry blossoms. It's definitely worth a visit in April!

The Kyu-Shibuyagawa Yuho-Doro (Cat Street)
A promenade on a back street, one street off the main street, connects Shibuya and Harajuku. Part of the "Kyu-Shibuyagawa Yuho-Doro" starting near the Jingumae police box is known as "Cat Street," where many popular stores, especially among young people, are located. There are various theories about the origin of the street name, such as "because there are many cats" or "because it is as narrow as a cat's forehead” etc...
This place is awesome for shopping! You can find super trendy and unique clothes, and when you get tired, there are cool cafes to relax in. It's definitely a favorite spot for young people!
Ishii
Ishii is a long-standing wagashi (Japanese sweets) store founded in 1862, back when Tokyo was still known as “Edo.” The building the store is in is over 200 years old, although the specific year of its construction is unknown.
I really love the rice roll flavor, especially the rich whipped cream. Even my mom, who usually doesn't like cream, couldn't resist having more!
Rokkatei Flagship Store
Rokkatei is loved as a staple brand for Hokkaido souvenirs. They offer a wide variety of sweets, such as Marusei Butter Sandwiches, Strawberry Chocolates.
Rokkatei's signature 'Rum Raisin Butter Sandwich' is my must-buy souvenir! It's super tasty and always a hit with friends and family. Pairing it with coffee or tea for afternoon tea is just fantastic!
