OMO7 Asahikawa by Hoshino Resorts
Hoshino Resort OMO7 Asahikawa is operated by Hoshino Resort, with the wish that guests enjoy Hokkaido’s climate, and new-old cultures of Asahikawa. It is a popular tourist spot, and a perfect hotel to create memories, located in the easy-to-access Asahikawa. It is near Furano and Biei.
We came as a big family and booked the Polar Bear Room—it was really perfect for us. The service was great, the quality was high, and we had a super comfortable stay!
The Original Aomori Nokkedon
This local rice bowl dish is served in the Aomori Gyosai Center at a 5-minute walk from Aomori Station. You purchase a bowl with cooked rice and add your favorite toppings as much as you wish at the market selling raw fish, deli food, etc. to make your own bowl.
You can pick your own seafood toppings here and really dig in. It was awesome!
Onuma Quasi National Park
In July 1958, Onuma Quasi-National Park was designated as the 13th in the nation and the only quasi-national park in southern Hokkaido.
It’s cold in winter, but the snowy scenery gives the place a whole different vibe!
Sato Yosuke Shoten Flagship Store
This long-established shop has inherited the Inaniwa udon production method established by the first generation Inaniwa (Sato) Kichizaemon in 1665.
These udon noodles are so chewy and have a great texture. The signature flavor is pretty good too!
Asakusa Kokonoe
Founded in 1962, this Age-Manju (deep-fried-manju) store can be found along Nakamise-dori, an avenue leading from Kaminari-mon Gate to Sensoji Temple. The hot, freshly fried, and wide variety of flavors of Age-Manju makes it ideal for eating around. This store is always displaying and selling its products, and there is always a long line of customers waiting to purchase.
I got a bit hungry while shopping, and this fried manju place had a long line—seems really popular! I tried the curry flavor, and it was so good while it was hot!
TOKYO SKYTREE(R) TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN(R)
Boasting a height of 634 meters, TOKYO SKYTREE is the world’s tallest free-standing tower which stands in the center of TOKYO SKYTREE TOWN surrounded by tourist facilities. The tower has two observation decks, Tembo Deck at a height of 350 meters and Tembo Galleria at 450 meters.
The view is totally different at night compared to during the day. It's a perfect spot for couples to enjoy the night scenery!

Clark Horse Garden
Located about a 10-minute drive north of Asahiyama Zoo, Clark Horse Garden is a scenic tourist ranch nestled in untouched natural surroundings. Set against the majestic backdrop of the Daisetsuzan mountain range, the grounds feature renovated old farm buildings that give the place the charming feel of rural America.
We chose different riding plans for adults and kids. The experienced staff guided us, which made us feel really safe.
Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium (Okurayama Viewing Point)
Okurayama Ski Jump Stadium, on top of Mt. Okura, was the stage for the 1972 Sapporo Winter Olympics. The 90m-long ski jump (the current Large Hill) is set up along the slope of the mountain to remind visitors of the olympics.
Walking around this Olympic museum, you can really learn a lot about the history of the Olympics!
Kushiro Fisherman’s Wharf MOO
It is a commercial complex located adjacent to the Nusamai Bridge at the Kushiro River’s mouth. MOO is an acronym for “Marine Our Oasis” and is popular as a symbol of the waterfront.
It's fun to stroll around here. In the evening, you can grab dinner and drinks at an izakaya and enjoy some skewers!
