Tonchinkan
The restaurant “Tonchinkan”, popular for Hiroshima Prefecture’s local “Onomichi ramen”, has been introduced many times on television and in magazines.
This is a famous ramen shop in the Onomichi area. The chashu ramen is super tasty—the broth has some pork fat, but it doesn't feel greasy at all. The fried rice is also really good.
Sanchoku Awaji-shima “Akaiyane”
There are many delicious foodstuffs in Awaji island, such as “Shirasu” (juvenile Japanese sardine/anchovy), “Mikan” (satsuma mandarine) and “Awaji Beef”, and it has been called “Miketsukuni” (the land of royal provisions). Sanchoku Awaji-shima “Akaiyane” is a place that provides carefully selected very attractive foodstuffs of Awaji island.
The building has a Southern European vibe with white walls and a red roof. Inside, you'll find farm products delivered straight from the source, and the prices are really reasonable.
Kurashiki Ivy Square
The main factory of the Kurashiki Spinning Mill, founded in 1889, has been turned into a tourism and cultural complex, the Kurashiki Ivy Square. The facility is a reproduction of a British factory. The replicated red brick buildings with lush green ivy vine presents a classical but modern atmosphere.
This textile factory, built in a British style, has been perfectly preserved. The red brick warehouse and Western-style buildings are over a hundred years old. The charming, historic atmosphere has earned it recognition as a Japanese heritage site.
Kappabashi Dougu Street®
Kappabashi Dougu Street is a shopping district between Tokyo’s Asakusa and Ueno areas that extends around 800 meters from north to south. It is an interesting shopping district, where around 160 shops all related to food items all gather, selling the obvious items like cooking utensils and tableware, as well as other things like restaurant signboards.
This place is so professional! There are so many different kinds of knives, even for special uses. It feels like you could use every single one, but I had no idea which to buy! 😅
