Mt. Senkoji, with an altitude of 144.2 meters, is one of three mountains of Onomichi City. The park is located halfway up the mountain. The cable car provides an easy 3 minute access point from the city, and you can see the entire cityscape of the Japanese Heritage City of Onomichi.

As the cable car slowly rises, you get a full view of the city and the endless Seto Inland Sea. Even though I bought a round-trip ticket, I ended up walking down to really enjoy the laid-back pace of life.

Open the floor-to-ceiling windows in the room and you get a stunning sunset view over Lake Biwa. The hotel's exterior is stylish, and the food is delicious too.
