Super convenient location—you can usually spot it as soon as you get off the bus, which is really helpful if it’s your first time in Otaru. The staff are pretty friendly, and basic communication in English is totally fine. If you have questions, they usually answer patiently, and they’ll even draw you a map and circle the key spots.

Inside they have maps, travel brochures, and event info. Sometimes there are small exhibits or tourist info displays too. The place is clean and bright, and there’s a spot to sit and take a break, so you can organize your plans before heading out.

Lake Kameyama

The largest dam lake in Chiba Prefecture, formed by Kameyama Dam completed in 1980, and also known as a famous getaway spot in the Boso Peninsula. Surrounded by lush natural scenery, the area is well equipped with campgrounds and a lakeside park. It’s also well known for bass fishing, drawing many anglers on weekends. Around the lake you’ll find boat houses, making it a great place not only for fishing but also for boating and other lake activities.

It’s really beautiful, with different scenery in every season. In spring there are cherry blossoms, and in fall the maple leaves reflected on the lake are stunning. You can also take a boat out and enjoy the views.

The water is super calm, so photos come out really atmospheric, and it just feels relaxing. If you love nature, it’s a great spot for a walk or a paddle.

Oga Resort Hotel Kiraraka

Oga Resort Hotel Kiraraka is situated along the popular scenic drive route, "Oga Shiokaze Kaido," on the Oga Peninsula in northwestern Akita Prefecture-a region surrounded by the Sea of Japan on three sides. The atmosphere in the hotel is super relaxing—perfect for unwinding and taking it easy. Just step outside and you're at the beach. Taking a walk here feels great.

Yamanashi Prefectural Maglev Exhibition Center

This is a museum-type facility where visitors can observe a real Maglev traveling at speeds of 500 km/h. On days when test runs are conducted, you can see the Maglev train in action from each floor of the facility. The outdoor terrace on the second floor is a popular photo spot, because you can actually feel the gust of wind when the train goes by at 500 km/h instead of watching from behind the glass.

There are so many kinds of animals, including adorable alpacas. The sheepdog show was fun too. It's a great place for families, and even the shuttle buses are shaped like animals—super cute!

Nakatsugawa Onsen, Kur Resort Yubunesawa

It's a great place for the whole family to enjoy hot springs together. There are lots of play areas for kids, but the food at the restaurant was a bit too simple.
