This safari park was opened in 1980 in the nature-rich Nasu Highland. About 700 wild animals of 70 species collected from all over the world are free-roaming here.
Touring can be done by your own car, a rental car, a bus, or the “Wild Ride” caged bus. You can see the living area of carnivores such as white lions, lions, and tigers, as well as herbivores such as giraffes, hippos, and rhinoceroses up close from the vehicle. On the guided bus, you can listen to the comments on the animals and have opportunities to feed them.
You can feed the adorable small animals such as rabbits and guinea pigs in the covered area “Fureai Hiroba” (petting farm), and you may be able to feed the capybaras if you are at the right time. There is a “Safari Walk” at the end of the area, where you can walk around and enjoy the “Tiger Observation Deck” and the sight of the white lions.
The night safari is held during the weekends. You can observe active nocturnal animals in a different atmosphere. You may be astounded by the power of lions and tigers in the dark.
If you want to get even closer to the animals, try the Elephant Ride Safari. It will take you around the safari zone, where wild animals live, being led by an elephant trainer.
