Tsurugaoka Hachimangu Yabusame Ritual

Tsurugaoka Hachimangu's Annual Grand Festival is held in all its grandeur across three days, from September 14th to 16th each year. On the final day, the 16th, the "Yabusame Ritual" is known especially to draw a crowd from all around.

Nagasaki Kunchi Festival

Originating in 1634, the Nagasaki Kunchi Festival is the autumn grand festival of Nagasaki's patron deity at Suwa Shrine. Spanning three days from October 7th to 9th annually, the entire city of Nagasaki immerses itself in festive fervor. The festival's origins are traced back to two courtesans who dedicated the traditional song and dance "Komee" at the Suwa Shrine, and dance offerings continue to this day. The festival is known for its unique and dynamic dedication dances.

A Western-style restaurant located at "Via Abeno Walk," which is adjacent to the "Abeno Q's Mall" shopping center right in front of Tennoji Station. Having been in business for over 70 years, the restaurant has always embraced the motto "Unchanging flavor and heartfelt service." It continues to serve elaborately prepared Western dishes.

Ouchijuku Yamagataya

Ouchijuku once thrived as a key post town on the route linking Aizu and Nikko during the Edo period. Even today, more than 30 thatched-roof houses line the street, preserving a townscape that feels much like it did centuries ago. Located near the center of Ouchijuku, Yamagataya is a casual restaurant and souvenir shop serving soba, shaved ice, rice crackers, and more.

Noichi Zoological Park

At this animal zoo you’ll find almost 1,400 different animals, representing 105 different specials in total. Historical Park of Tea and Uji Town

A facility in Uji, known as a tea-producing region, that showcases the charm of Uji tea as well as the history and culture of the area. 2.5 hectares of the vast site, which preserves and uses the remains of the "Uji River Taiko-zutsumi Site" excavated in 2007, is divided into a "Historical Site Zone" and an "Exchange Zone".

Tsubosaka-dera Temple

This ancient temple stands on top of Mt. Tsubosaka, with Mt. Yoshino, famous for its cherry blossoms, to the south and the Nara Basin, home of Manyo, to the north. It is named in the Heian-period books "Makura no Soshi" and "Konjaku Monogatari-shu" ("Tales of Ancient Japan"), etc.

Birthplace of Iwasaki Yataro

Iwasaki Yataro was the founder of the Mitsubishi group and a successful businessman with a samurai background. He was born on December 11, 1835, the son of an Jikaronin (former lower-ranked, rural samurai) class in in Ichinomiya, Inokuchi Village, Aki-gun, Tosa Province. His birthplace has been restored and is now open to the public.

Motomachi / Yamate Area in Yokohama

The Yamate district is located on a small hill to the south of Yokohama Chinatown. After the opening of the port in 1859, this area overlooking the sea became a foreign settlement, following Kannai. Many Western-style houses remain or have been relocated among lush greenery, including the Yamate Museum, a wooden house built in 1909 that blends Japanese and Western styles.
