Date Masamune Historical Museum
In the museum, approximately 200 life-size wax figures are used to portray 25 scenes from the life of Masamune Date, the first lord of the feudal domain. A 1945 investigation revealed the remains of lord Masamune's mausoleum "Zuihoden," which had been destroyed by fire in an air raid during World War II. Based on these remains, the face of Lord Masamune has been reconstructed, and his voice has been reproduced by computer.
