JR Hakata City
This largest train building / retail complex in Kyushu is directly connected to JR Hakata Station. It is made up of AMU Plaza Hakata, and Hakata Hankyu at the Hakata Entrance on the west side and HAKATA DEITOS and AMU EST at the Chikushi Entrance on the east side.
JR Hakata City is a shopping complex that brings together shopping, dining, relaxation, and sightseeing all in one place. It's the perfect spot to shop till you drop! 👍
Sarakurayama Observatory
It's an observatory from which you can enjoy a panoramic view of the Kitakyushu city area. To reach the observatory at the summit of the 622-meter-high mountain, visitors take a cable car and a slope car.
The observatory lights up on weekends, making the night view even more romantic. It's a perfect spot for couples to go on a date! ❤️
Narita International Airport
The international airport and gateway to Tokyo, visited by 44 million travelers each year (as of 2019). Opened in 1978, this world-famous airport (airport code NRT) has ferried over 6 million flights both in and out of Japan. The airport grounds include 3 different passenger terminals, a freight terminal and is currently planning to open a new runaway in addition to its two runways currently open.
Narita Airport introduced Face Express in 2021. It's a self check-in system that verifies your passport and registers your face, so you don't need to show your boarding pass or passport anymore. From baggage drop to security and the gate, it's all facial recognition. Super convenient! 🤣👍
Aeon Mall Wakayama
This largest shopping center in Wakayama Prefecture with over 150,000 ㎡ space attracts many local customers as well as shoppers from the Sennan and Hannan areas in Osaka. The center can be reached via an easy access from the Hirai Ramp on the Daini-Hanwa National Highway and is only a 40 minute drive from Kansai Airport.
AEON Mall Wakayama has over 30 restaurants—buffets, Japanese, Chinese, Western cuisine, you name it! There are AEON STYLE sections from the 1st to 3rd floors, including a big supermarket. 👍 It's a great place to shop!
TENJIN CHIKAGAI
Tenjin area is located in Fukuoka City Chuo-ward, Kyushu’s largest downtown district. Going through the street is Watanabe Street, and to the north, Showa street. To the south is Tenjin Chikagai, an underground street, 600m in length running under Kokutai Street. There are 12 districts, with 150 shops such as apparel, gourmet food, sundries, and books.
Tenjin Chikagai... it's honestly a food paradise! ❤️ Highly recommend.
Tokyo Disneyland
Known and loved as the “kingdom of dreams and magic”, this full-scale themepark is just a 15 min. train ride from Tokyo Station.
Right now, Tokyo Disneyland has a daily limit on visitors. Make sure to buy your tickets in advance to guarantee entry, then take your time and enjoy all the attractions to the fullest! ❤️
Haneda Airport (Tokyo International Airport)
Haneda is Japan’s largest airport, officially called Tokyo International Airport. Each of the three terminals has an observation deck where you can watch closely the airplanes take off and land, shopping facility, and restaurants with different cuisines.
Currently, Haneda Airport has several COVID-19 safety measures in place. Travelers are asked to check their temperature and make sure they don't have a fever or cough before heading to the airport. Once there, you need to wear a mask, wash your hands often, use sanitizer regularly, and keep a safe distance from others.
Daihonzan Eigenji Temple
Since its establishment in 1361, it has been the head temple of the Eigenji school of the Rinzai sect of Zen Buddhism, which has been dedicated to the study of zazen and prayers for safety under the sun. In the past, as many as 2,000 monks were said to have gathered here to practice Buddhism, and there are 127 branch temples throughout Japan.
Eigenji Temple has been famous as a spot for autumn leaves since it was founded. During the fall, so many people come to visit and enjoy the beautiful foliage.
Uwasekigata Park
"Uwasekigata Park", spread out at the foot of Kadota Mountain, is a place where visitors can spend a relaxing time in nature, with a lagoon inhabited by wild birds in the vast site. While the park is conveniently located only 10 minutes by car from downtown Maki and a bus ride from Niigata Station, the approximately 263,000 m2 site allows visitors to enjoy the great outdoors at their leisure.
Uwasekigata Park is a well-known cherry blossom spot in Niigata. In spring, you can see rows of cherry trees in full bloom—perfect for hanami!
Dazaifu Tenmangu Shrine
Dazaifu Tenmangu is the head shrine of 10,000 different shrines across Japan dedicated to the spirit of Sugawara Michizane. Sugawara was an acclaimed scholar who was deemed innocent posthumously after being exiled to Dazaifu by Kyoto’s Imperial Court. The main hall was built over his grave and has been preserved as a sacred site of Tenjin worship for over 1100 years.
Near Dazaifu Tenmangu, there's a special-edition Ichiran Ramen and a Starbucks designed by Kengo Kuma. Both are must-visit spots in my opinion. Just wanted to share—definitely take a stroll around here! 😋
