Kobe Universiade Memorial Stadium Park

One of the largest comprehensive recreational facilities in the Kansai region. Its vast grounds feature sports facilities such as an athletics stadium, as well as lawn areas, walking paths, and playground zones, making it popular for everything from watching sports to everyday leisure.

The biggest plus is how clean the environment is. The air is great, the views are nice, and it’s a really pretty place for photos. It feels especially nice during cherry blossom season in spring or in the fall.

It’s pretty convenient since you can get there by subway, but the park is really big, so be prepared to do a lot of walking.

Cafe Itsutsubashi

Cafe Itsutsubashi is known for its unbeatable location-enjoy a meal while looking out at Kintaikyo Bridge right in front of you. It’s on the second floor of the Kintaikyo Bridge Bus Center along the Nishiki River, making it extremely convenient and a great base for exploring the area. It’s also perfect for relaxing while you wait for your bus after a stroll. The cafe’s most popular items are Iwakuni’s local specialties.

A small, quiet cafe with a vibe that makes time feel like it slows down as soon as you walk in.
The decor is simple and cozy—not overly commercial. It’s a great place to come alone, zone out, or read.
The coffee goes down smooth, and the desserts aren’t overly sweet—more the kind you can enjoy without getting tired of them.
No frills, but overall it’s really comfortable. If you’re looking for somewhere to sit quietly for a bit, this spot is perfect.

Kumaya Cave

Iheya Island, a remote island about 1 hour by ferry from Okinawa Main Island. On the northern part of the island, halfway up a rocky mountain on the edge of the Tana settlement, you'll find Kumaya Cave opening wide. Formed by the erosion of chert rock, this natural space is vast in scale, measuring Approx. 10 meters high, 40 meters deep, and covering 600 square meters.

The cave has such a mysterious vibe. Walking inside feels like going on an adventure. It’s cool and quiet in there, and it almost feels like stepping through time. A really cool experience!

A long-established restaurant serving Yoshida Udon for around 70 years, now run by the third generation. The restaurant is widely regarded as the originator of horse meat toppings, a now-standard feature of Yoshida Udon.

This udon shop is a local favorite that's been around forever. The noodles are super chewy, and the broth is simple but flavorful. Adding some fried sides makes it even more satisfying. Prices are reasonable and portions are filling—great value for money!

JR Hakata City

This largest train building / retail complex in Kyushu is directly connected to JR Hakata Station. It is made up of AMU Plaza Hakata, and Hakata Hankyu at the Hakata Entrance on the west side and HAKATA DEITOS and AMU EST at the Chikushi Entrance on the east side.

JR Hakata City is such a fun place to explore! There are tons of shops in AMU PLAZA, and you can find pretty much anything to eat or buy. The location is super convenient, too. You could easily spend the whole day here and never get bored. Highly recommended!

AQUARIUM ✕ ART átoa

Opened in 2021 within the “Kobe Port Museum,” a multi-purpose cultural facility in Kobe’s bay area, this urban aquarium is home to around 60 tanks, housing approximately 100 species (3,000 individual creatures), and showcases about 50 pieces of stage art and digital art. It’s a new kind of theater-style aquarium.

Omori Nori Museum

Once a thriving center for seaweed farming along the Tokyo Bay coast-including areas like Ota Ward-Omori played a major role in shaping seaweed production in Japan. Beginning in the mid-Edo period, its techniques were adopted nationwide. However, land reclamation along Tokyo Bay brought the era of local seaweed farming to a close in the spring of 1963. This museum was established to preserve and share the rich history and culture of Ota Ward’s seaweed industry.

The Shoto Museum of Art

This museum was designed by architect Seiichi Shirai in his last year. He was known as the “Philosophical Architect” and worked during the Showa period. The front of the museum features a design dubbed by rubellite by Shirai. It features a slightly-pink hued stone exterior wall that bends. It is accented by a golden door, creating a dramatic effect.
