If the weather’s good, you can see really far.
The whole view is so spectacular—totally worth coming at least once.

Shirogane Blue Pond
The Shirogane Blue Pond in Biei is famous as the top tourist attraction in the area, captivating visitors with its vivid blue. This man-made pond unexpectedly formed when water accumulated behind a dam that was constructed to prevent volcanic mudflows from Mt. Tokachi. The surreal blue of the pond, combined with the surrounding lush nature and dead larch trees, creates an enchanting atmosphere reminiscent of a fairy tale.
The color changes when the sunlight hits it—so dreamy.
Photos look amazing even without filters.
That view of the dead trees standing in the water is really unique, with this quiet, mysterious vibe. -

Otaru Canal
Otaru Port, which developed as a gateway for Hokkaido's settlement, saw an increasing volume of cargo over the years. To streamline its transportation, the "Otaru Canal" was completed in 1923 (Taisho 12). The canal, created by reclaiming the offshore coast, is characterized by its gentle curves rather than a straight line.
Otaru Canal has such a vibe.
The red-brick warehouses along both sides feel super retro—like you’re walking through a movie set. -

Shinjuku Subnade
Approximately 100 shops are in Shinjuku's largest underground shopping area. You can enjoy yourself to the fullest with fashion aware of the latest trends, shops with general goods, diverse services that support dressing stylishly, and restaurants and cafes of various food styles.
Very convenient location, and it’s super practical to walk underground when it’s raining or too hot.
There’s a good variety of shops, but they feel a bit old and nothing really stands out.
It’s fine to walk through if you’re passing by, but I wouldn’t make a special trip just to come here. -
