I didn't expect there to be a museum dedicated to hot springs. I learned that it can take around 50 years for a drop of rainwater to become hot spring water. I really learned something new.

Hiroshima Castle Sannomaru
A commercial complex that opened in 2025 to bring new activity to Hiroshima Castle. Located in the Sannomaru area overlooking the castle tower and moat, it features shops where visitors can experience Hiroshima's history and culture.
I originally just came to see Hiroshima Castle, but Sannomaru was also quite nice to explore. The space is beautifully designed, and the wooden buildings and landscaped courtyard have a distinctly Japanese feel. It's clean and stylish, and a nice place to take a short break when you're tired from walking.

Lake Shusenko
A dam lake that stretches along National Route 341 in Semboku City, Akita Prefecture. In the center of the lake, Shusenko Dam Park is maintained, offering a beautiful contrast between the cobalt-blue water surface and the surrounding trees. It’s also known for the limited-time scenic view called the “submerged forest,” which can only be seen from May to around mid-June.
The first time I saw Lake Shusenko's submerged forest, I was truly amazed. The lake was incredibly blue, and together with the fresh green leaves that had just sprouted, the whole scene looked magical. It was even more beautiful in person than in photos.
