Going backstage and getting to talk with the main actor was the best time of the whole trip. He was very knowledgeable and nice. Ningyo-joruri was something I had never seen before and a total Discovery, which is what I'm looking for during trip.

Making a kitchen knife as a traditional craft at Sakai, Osaka - Attaching a handle & sharpening
At the well-established Wada Shoten founded 150 years ago, you can try out a workshop involving the creation of knives as a traditional craft. Choose the one you like from small knives, pointed carvers, sashimi knives, and all-purpose knives.
Favorite moment was the knife sharpening. I learned something that would be useful to me in the future and the staff was very helpful and friendly. They seemed very engaged about teaching us the basics of knife sharpening and providing everyone with a full experience, even if we were running a bit out of time. Taking the knife home is also very lovely.
