This train is super popular during cherry blossom and autumn foliage seasons. You definitely need to book early, since reserved seats often sell out fast.

Kabushima Shrine
Kabushima Island is one of the prominent nesting places of black-tailed gulls in Japan. Climbing up a flight of stone steps, you will find Kabushima Shrine, which was founded in 1269, standing on the top of the hill. During the Edo period, in the feudal domain of Hachinohe-han, the shrine had been worshiped enthusiastically by the successive feudal lords since the time of the first feudal lord.
This shrine is built along the coast, and it's famous for all the seagulls circling overhead. Just watch out—you might get pooped on!

Oranda-zaka
Among Nagasaki’s tourism sites, the Oranda-zaka (Hollander/Dutch Slope) is well known. It means the remaining cobblestone slope in the Yamate area where people from other countries lived.
The name sounds really European, but walking here doesn't quite feel that way...
