Yokohama Chinatown is really different from how I remember it as a kid. There's not much of the traditional festival vibe anymore, and the old Chinese community is slowly fading away.

Oita Marine Palace Aquarium “Umitamago”
Umitamago is an aquarium in a superb location overlooking the blue waters of Beppu Bay and the surrounding mountains. Based on the theme of “an aquarium where you can befriend animals,” it has become a popular attraction where visitors can interact closely with marine mammals such as walruses.
The aquarium is clean and comfortable, and it’s easy to get around even with kids and a stroller. The large tank has all kinds of marine life, and the kids were so excited watching them. The biggest surprise for the children was seeing dolphins, walruses, and penguins up close. It felt really interactive.

Kawa no Soba
After drinking around Nakasu, Fukuoka, Kawa no Soba is a place you will want to stop by. Located along the Nakagawa River, this restaurant works both as a place for chuka soba, a light ramen-style noodle dish, and as an izakaya-style spot, making it a popular choice for ending the night. It has counter seats that are easy to use even when visiting alone, as well as relaxed table seating, making it convenient as a second or third stop.
This place is really solid. The prices aren’t expensive, but the quality is great! The chicken skin was crispy on the outside and chewy inside, and it got more flavorful the more I ate. Paired with the ramen, it was super satisfying. No wonder the shop was almost entirely full of foreign tourists.

Mt. Senkoji Ropeway
The Mt. Senkoji Ropeway is a throughway connecting Nagaeguchi Station at the base to Senkoji-yama Station at the summit of Mount Senkoji, a 144.2 meter-tall towering member of Onomichi’s three famed peaks.
The ropeway ride only takes a few minutes, but the view is amazing. As soon as you get to the top, you can see the whole Onomichi Port laid out before you.
