The models in the museum are incredibly detailed—it's like looking at the real thing! Train fans will be thrilled. The highlight is definitely the huge indoor railway diorama, where trains run through city and countryside scenes. Super realistic. Even if you're not a train enthusiast, you'll be drawn in by the details and atmosphere.

Ishikawa Prefectural Government 19th Floor Observation Lobby
A public observation space on the top floor of the Ishikawa Prefectural Government building. The floor is glass-walled on all four sides, offering sweeping views of Kanazawa’s cityscape, the sea, and the mountains from a height of Approx. 80 meters above ground. On clear days, you can see Mt. Hakusan and the Tateyama Mountain Range, and since admission is available until 8:00pm (7:00pm on weekdays from January to March), you can also enjoy the night view.
Definitely worth going up for a look! The best part is that it’s free, and the view is amazing. You can see all of Kanazawa, and farther out you can even see Mt. Hakusan. It’s nice and clear during the day, and at night you get a totally different vibe with the city lights.
The space up top is pretty big, and there are chairs where you can sit and relax. Overall, it’s quiet and not crowded. There’s also a café nearby, so you can enjoy the view with a cup of coffee.
If you’re planning a trip to Kanazawa, I’d recommend going around sunset so you can catch both the sunset and the night view. Super romantic ❤️ -
Onogame
Rising at the northern tip of Sado Island, Onogame is a massive 167-meter-tall monolith that seems to jut out toward the sea. Its majestic form is said to resemble a turtle crossing the ocean, and it is known as a spectacular scenic spot that earned two stars in the Michelin Green Guide Japon. In early summer, the area around the rock is colored by a vast colony of Approx. 500,000 Tobishima daylily plants, totaling 1 million blooms.
Really unique! In spring, the golden Sado daylilies bloom here, and they look amazing with the ocean view.
From the observation deck, you can see the wide open sea stretching out endlessly. The ocean breeze is so relaxing, and it’s a great spot to clear your head and take photos. -
Michi-no-Eki Sagae Cherry Land
Sagae is a city in Yamagata Prefecture with a claim to fame as the birthplace of cherries in Japan. It’s also home to Michi-no-Eki Sagae Cherry Land, the iconic roadside stop and market that’s themed around cherries. You won’t be able to miss this spot perching on sprawling riverside grounds ranked as and one of the largest full-on facilities of its kind in the Tohoku region, complete with a product center, restaurants, and cafés.
Super cute place! There are cherry-themed decorations everywhere 🍒. You can buy local fruits and souvenirs, and there are several kinds of cherry desserts to try. They really put me in a great mood! Parking is easy, so it's a perfect spot to take a break during your trip.
