Heinz Beck, an Italian Restaurant that Won 1 Star in the Michelin Tokyo Guide!
I recently had lunch at Heinz Beck, a restaurant that was awarded 1 Michelin star, located near the Imperial Palace in Tokyo. Chef Heinz Beck, from Rome's La Pergola, winner of 3 Michelin stars for 12 consecutive years, is a master in the world of gastronomy. Now his first fine dining establishment has opened in Tokyo!
In the same building, there's a slightly casual branch restaurant featuring modern Italian cuisine called "Sensi by Heinz Beck".
Only for Lunch! The Chef's Omakase Selection of 4 Courses for ¥8000
Both lunch and dinner are offered as courses.
I ordered the chef's selection of 4 courses, called "Omakase" in Japanese. It's ¥8000, excluding consumption tax and a 10% service charge. The contents of the courses can change at any time, so please use this review for your reference.
In addition to the 3 types of bread, Grissini (breadsticks) and chips were offered.
The olive oil was the same as the one used in Rome's restaurant, and the butter came from Bordier in France. You could also choose from 6 types of salt.
First, I had the amuse-bouche, or appetizer. The chef requested that it be eaten in sequence, from the left to the right.
The pink powder is pomegranate juice that was frozen and powdered.
After being served, there was a surprise.
Under the plate, a minty mist suddenly appeared!
Chef Heinz Beck made his name with an original carbonara recipe.
Piping hot carbonara sauce is put inside fresh, ravioli-like pasta. I was so surprised to find it inside!
This dish had a nice mouthfeel. It was so delicious!
For an additional ¥3000, I had them sprinkle white truffle shavings on top. The aroma was also wonderful!
Beneath the fish, there was a celery sauce.
The fish was tender and the celery sauce, lacking any peculiar taste, was delicious!
Marzipan Jelly with Air Chocolate and Green Apple Sorbet
This delightful cuisine, making full use of all five senses, is a form of entertainment.
Just as I expected, this gourmet restaurant elicits many "oohs and aahs" of admiration!
In addition to the original menu from Rome's La Pergola, diners can enjoy creative cuisines only available in Tokyo. By all means, dress up and visit Heinz Beck yourself!
