Lunch at Sabatini di Firenze Tokyo, the Best and Oldest Italian Restaurant in Tokyo
At Sabatini di Firenze Tokyo, a venerable old Italian restaurant in Japan's capital, I recently enjoyed their "Winter Afternoon Lunch". It's only available during this season.
The Exterior and Interior of the Restaurant
The restaurant is located on the third floor of the Hulic Square Building. By the way, there are shops and restaurants from the basement to third floors, but from the 4th floor, it's a hotel that is part of the Hulic Group.
Inside the restaurant, a calm ambience greets diners.
The Menu
The lunch menu is a course meal.
This time, I had previously made a reservation for 2 of the 20 meals available daily, the "Winter Afternoon Lunch".

The Cuisine
The Appetizer
Spinach sformatino (savory flan) was served with a mushroom cream sauce
Featuring the full flavor of spinach, I could taste the blessings of nature with this dish.
The Bread
Three types of bread were offered: grissini, focaccia, and baguette.
They will bring more bread for those who want second servings.
The Soup of the Day
The Pasta
Linguine with Snow Crab and Tomato Sauce.
The rich tomato sauce was truly delicious.
Homemade Italian Sausage and Black Cabbage Rigatoni.
The second plate was a meat-based pasta.
Japanese Butterfish Fried in Herb Breading with Leek Purée and Condensed Balsamic Sauce
The thickness of the fish and the sauce it was served with made a delectable dish.
The Palate-Cleansing Intermezzo Fruit Sherbet
Beef Sirloin Sautéed in Chianti Sauce and Shallot Fondue
Two Desserts of the Day
Usually, diners can select desserts from a cart, but this time, two of them were chosen by the chef.
The Espresso Coffee
We received so many dishes, one by one, that the price turned out to be a very good deal. This course is also offered on weekends, but weekdays are recommended because it's easier to make reservations then.
