GINZA SIX is a luxurious building with a commanding presence, even amidst the high-end brands lining Ginza's central street. It opened in 2017 as the largest commercial facility in the Ginza district, redeveloping the area including the former site of the Matsuzakaya Ginza store in Ginza 6-chome.

Stretching from two underground floors up to the sixth floor and boasting 13 stories in total, the facility houses over 200 shops and restaurants. Many of these shops are first-time entrants to Japan or making their debut, making it a continuously buzzworthy spot since its opening. The complex is replete with high-end brands typical of Ginza, drawing both domestic and international tourists.

On the third basement level, there's the "Kanze Noh Theater," representing the prestigious Kanze school of Noh. This serves as a focal point for Japanese cultural dissemination. Along Mihara Street, there's a designated drop-off and pick-up spot for tourist buses, making it a new gateway and hub for Ginza tourism.

Additionally, the rooftop features "GINZA SIX Garden," the largest rooftop garden in Ginza. It's recommended to drop by for a break during shopping. The rooftop garden is accessible from early morning, making it perfect for a morning stroll.

  • The whole building is super stylish. You get a sense of luxury as soon as you walk in. Most of the stores are high-end brands, so the prices aren't cheap.

If you go up to the rooftop garden, you get a clear view of Tokyo Tower and Skytree.

  • I always stop by here whenever I'm in Tokyo. In early January this year, 14 stores announced they were closing at the same time. Not sure what will happen next...

  • It feels super stylish and upscale. Even just walking around without buying anything is a treat! There are all kinds of restaurants too, and the atmosphere is really romantic. I want to visit again.
