Ginza is famous for its highly ranked shopping area. Ginza Mitsukoshi is centrally located and also a representative department with a long history in Japan. The beginning of the business was selling Kimonos called “Echigo- ya” which lasted from 1673. Ginza Mitsukoshi was opened in 1930. Since then, the role has played as a landmark of Ginza for about 90 years.
The one facility is called “the main building” on the main street of Ginza, Chuo street, and another one is called “New building” across from ”Azuma street”, these two buildings are connected on the 3rd floor and up, and the photo studio called “Mihara-building” in on the 6th floor. Various line-up goods are characteristic of a department store including food, cosmetics, ladies’ clothes and sundries, gentlemen’s clothes and sundries, interiors, the shop for presents, and restaurants. On the 9th floor, it is distinct that “the Ginza Syusse Jizozon (the Jizo leading to a successful promotion) is enshrined on a terrace. The lion statue at the entrance of the main building is the most famous statue for meeting in Ginza. It is a popular destination in all seasons.
