Koyasu Jinja Shrine
This is the oldest shrine in Hachioji, granting firm blessings for safe childbirth and childrearing.
It is said that Koyasu Shrine, the oldest in Hachioji, was founded in the year 759 to pray for safety in childbirth for the Empress of Japan.
With such a history, even now this shrine is famous for attracting many people praying for all things concerning children, such as safety in giving birth as well as raising children.
All year round, many events are held here, and a lot of those are related to children, too.
There is a limited shrine stamp, called Goshuin in Japanese, that can only be received during such events. Thanks to its refined style, the stamp offered here is popular, and many people line up from early in the morning to receive it.
