Grapestone “Tokyo Banana Mitsuketa (found)”

“Tokyo Banana” was created in 1991 and has become a major souvenir from Tokyo. The fluffy sponge cake has a filling of pureed banana custard cream.

Many have eaten bananas since childhood and remember the taste, which is why the banana was chosen as a theme. The maker imagined a fashionable and lively female living in Tokyo, and gave a girl’s name “奈 (Na)” to the cake. Even though people may forget in the daily hustle, they wanted customers to recall the taste of banana hiding in their happy childhood memories, thus, “Mitsuketa! (Found!)” was added to the name.

Freezing the cake for 2 hours will turn the custard’s texture like that of ice cream. Taste it as it is, chill in the fridge or freeze it for fun.
