Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum
A “Doorway to Art” made open to all. The Tokyo Metropolitan Art Museum awaits in Ueno Park.
Sat in Ueno forest, the distinctive red-brick tile construction of this striking museum has served as a hall for the fine arts since it first opened in 1926.
Once inside you’ll find the museum hosts a number of different exhibits, including special exhibitions with masterpieces from Japan and overseas, self-planned exhibitions, and open call exhibitions. You’ll also find the "Art Communication Programs," a program dedicated to fostering connections among people through art, providing special opportunities and viewings for children and people with disabilities.
