Last update :

This aquarium is located on the 5th and 6th floors of Tokyo Skytree Town’s West Yard area.
It is completely indoors, and the aquarium’s unique artificial seawater production system makes the aquarium water wonderful and clean for the creatures living in it.
“As you get closer, you’ll love them even more” is the aquariums motto, so here you can get up very close to the creatures on display.
There are so many unimaginable and can’t-miss exhibits throughout the aquarium, including penguins swimming through an open-air pool between the 5th and 6th floors, the “Water’s Blessing Tokyo Tank” themed after the Ogasawara Islands and others of the 219 islands that make up the Tokyo archipelago, and the “Edorium” with around 20 species of beautiful and colorful goldfish on display.
There are even cafés and shops selling original goods, so you can relax and enjoy your time here!

  • Sumida Aquarium is located inside Tokyo Skytree, so after your visit, you can also check out the Skytree itself.

  • Located on the 6th floor of Tokyo Skytree, this aquarium is clearly designed with kids in mind. They have all kinds of unique jellyfish, super cute penguins, and some really interesting goldfish. If you have extra time after visiting Skytree, it's worth stopping by.

The aquarium is pretty small. I finished walking through it in no time.

  • There's a combo ticket for the Tokyo Skytree observation decks (350m and 450m) plus the aquarium, which is a good deal. Sumida Aquarium is on the 5th and 6th floors of the Skytree. The space isn't huge, but it has the largest indoor open tank in Japan. You can see sharks, rays, and lots of Japanese marine life.
