Last update :

This museum is filled with the works of the world-famous artist, Yayoi Kusama.
Enter Kusama’s world through polka-dotted glass doors in this urban, refined white 5-story building.

It is a valuable museum where Yayoi Kusama’s works can be appreciated anytime in Tokyo. The reception desk and museum shop are on the 1st floor, the 2nd and 3rd floors hold exhibition galleries, and the 4th floor has installations. The 5th floor features a rooftop gallery with a browsing space where you can peruse related reading material.

Each work has its own power. The world of Yayoi Kusama, as reflected on these white walls, is overwhelming.
Besides Kusama’s characteristic polka-dot patterns, you can see works from past exhibitions, going back to her days as a young girl growing up in Matsumoto, a city in Nagano Prefecture.

Entry dates and times, as well as visitor capacity, is restricted at this museum. On the 1st of every month, reservations are taken for up to 2 months in advance, only on the website.
Since visitor capacity is limited to 90-minute time slots, it never gets crowded. Although the building isn’t so large, there is enough space to appreciate the art, so it’s a popular place.

Each floor of the museum is basically reached by going one way up the stairs, and down the elevator. (*Depending on the exhibition, this viewing route is subject to change.)
Especially on sunny days, be sure to take in the panoramic views of Tokyo from the 5th floor before going down to the 1st floor, where limited items are sold. They make ideal souvenirs!

  • Entry times and capacity are reserved. (every 90 minutes)
  • Tickets to the museum are only available on the website.
  • Be sure to check the latest exhibition schedule on the website.

    如果是草間彌生的粉絲一定要去參觀,雖然沒有很大約一個小時就可以參觀完,但是能夠看到大師所設計的作品,心裡依然相當的感動
