At the National Museum of Emerging Science and Innovation (Miraikan), the humanoid robot "ASIMO" and the androids "ALTER" and "OTONAROID" are popular. Through demonstrations of "ASIMO," visitors can imagine a future society where humans and robots coexist. "ALTER", which expresses life-likeness with complex movements, and "OTONAROID," which looks like a human being, are cutting-edge researches, and are rare exhibitions in the world that ask questions such as "What is life?" and "What is a human being?"

There are also laboratories of external project teams conducting cutting-edge research, which can be seen across the corridor from the permanent exhibition hall, and tours to visit the laboratories are held on a regular basis.

In the Dome Theater Gaia, where you can feel the atmosphere and sign of the universe through high-definition images, English-language audio guides are available free of charge for "The Man from the 9th Dimension," which focuses on the theory of everything, and "Birthday: What Connects Me to the Universe," which connects everyday space and the universe. The official smartphone application "Miraikan Note" provides audio guides in Japanese, English, Chinese, and Korean to introduce the highlights of the exhibition.
Online ticket reservation is required to enter the museum.
