Maruzen Marunouchi Main Store
One of the largest bookstores in Japan with the concept of a "Book Museum".
The Maruzen Marunouchi Main Store is located on the first through fourth floors of Marunouchi Oazo Building. It is one of the largest bookstores in Japan, holding approximately 1 million Japanese and 120,000 foreign titles. Based on the concept of a "Book Museum," each floor has a "Museum Zone," an exhibition space like an art museum.
It sounds challenging to find your desired book among its large lists, but the knowledgeable staff are happy to help you with any questions you may have, so don’t hesitate to ask.
In addition to books, the store has a large stationery section including nearly 1,000 fountain pens, as well as eyeglasses and watches, and a gallery.
There are cafes on the third and fourth floors where you can relax while looking down at the Tokyo Station. The café on the fourth floor serves a popular dish called "Hayashi Rice", which is said to have been invented by Yuteki Hayashi, the founder of Maruzen.
