In 1890, upon the request of the Meiji Administration that was promoting the westernization of Japan, this hotel was opened by leading businessmen. For the first 19 years, Shibusawa Eiichi, the representative of the founders, administered the management and served as president.
Today, trained staff, 2,000 of them in all such as Belstaff, concierge and laundry, are entertaining domestic and international guests. The high-quality service and the hospitality are beloved by guests from all over the world.
The casual restaurant on the 1st floor, Parkside Diner, offers pancakes, everyone’s favorite. Since it was added to the menu in 1953, the staff has been tweaking the recipe and keeping the taste of Imperial Hotel. They are cooked on their dedicated iron and served in a 3-layer stack for over 60 years.
