A new facility opened in August 2021 in Uji, a city known for its tea production, to convey the charm of Uji tea and the history and culture of Uji. 2.5 hectares of the vast site, which preserves and uses the remains of the "Uji River Taiko-zutsumi Site" excavated in 2007, is divided into a "Historical Site Zone" and an "Exchange Zone".

In the "Historic Site Zone", the "Uji River Taiko-zutsumi", which is said to have been built by Toyotomi Hideyoshi in order to consolidate land and water routes in Fushimi, has been reconstructed. In addition, there is a "Shukei Tea Garden", which recreates the peaceful scenery of a tea garden, a "Garden of Trees", which is decorated with seasonal plants, and a "Nodate Garden", where outdoor events are held, where visitors can freely enjoy a stroll.

The main part of the "Exchange Zone" is the "Chazuna", which includes a museum, restaurant, and store that convey the charm of Uji tea and the history of Uji.
Various tea-related programs are conducted daily, including experiences where participants can grind matcha from a tea mill to learn about the characteristics of freshly ground matcha versus commercially available matcha, compare different Uji teas in a tasting experience, and engage in crafting activities. Additionally, from March 11, 2024, for one year, a "Taiga Drama Exhibition" will be held on the second floor of "Chazuna" (advance tickets are 400 yen, and same-day tickets are 500 yen).
