Last update :

Tucked in deep Hokkaido, near Jozankei, “North Safari Sapporo” is Hokkaido’s first hands-on petting zoo. With approximately 140 species of animals, it is famous by guests of many generations as they enjoy petting and feeding. It is also popular as Japan’s first animal glamping venue.

The zoo is divided into 3 sections. The most popular is the “Dangerous Forest”. Here, guests can feed raptors and Asiatic black bears. The most popular experience here is the dangerous feeding where guests can feed tigers inside their cage. Seeing tigers up close will have you feeling both intensity and cuteness.

The Dangerous Zone is also a must visit, guests must sign a pledge before entering. This area houses aggressive animals such as alligator turtles, and porcupines. Guests can walk nearby in this thrilling area, but the scariest of all is a lone, glass bridge above an alligator pool. Guests can walk through this bridge in this daring and unique experience.

The zoo houses Japan’s first animal glamping venue. There are 3 cottages with seals, penguins, and sea turtles. There are a total of 12 rooms such as glamping tents, dome tents, and hill cottages. Each room allows guests to spend a day filled with animals with meerkats, wallabies, teacup pigs and other popular animals. Meals include Hokkaido seafood, and mountainous veggies in a glorious barbeque. Eating in the middle of nature is a special moment.
