“Asahidake”, the highest peak in the Daisetsuzan mountain range, is a series of 2,000-meter-high peaks. Asahidake, which rises 2,291 meters above sea level, is popular for its easy access to the 1,600-meter-high ropeway, making it an easy way to enjoy the spectacular view.

Summer and autumn are the best seasons. In summer, visitors can enjoy alpine flora blooming in the clear alpine air, and in autumn, they can enjoy the autumn leaves spreading all over the area. Rare animals such as the Ezo chipmunk inhabit the area. In winter, the entire area is covered in snow. Natural phenomena such as diamond dust and Skavla (wind and snow crest) can sometimes be seen.

On a clear day, the reflection of Mt. Asahidake on the clear blue surface of the pond creates a fantastic atmosphere. It is also an attractive place to step into while taking a stroll from the Sugatami Ropeway Station. Asahidake Onsen (hot spring) is located near the foot of the mountain, so after climbing the mountain, you can stop by and relax after a hard day's trekking.

“Asahidake Visitor Center”, located near the foot of the mountain, provides information on Asahidake and the surrounding area, and the knowledgeable staff will give you advice on climbing and sightseeing.
