Lake Okotanpe

Lake Okotanpe, nestled in the Shikotsu-Toya National Park in Hokkaido, lies about 7 kilometers northwest of Lake Shikotsu and at an elevation 300 meters higher, at 600 meters above sea level. This secluded mountain lake is cradled between Mount Eniwa (1,320 meters) and Mount Izari (1,318 meters), far removed from populated areas.

Lake Okotanpe is north of Lake Shikotsu, surrounded by lush green forests. The water is so clear, and it feels like a pearl embraced by mountains. Absolutely beautiful!

Daiba Park

Daiba Park, located at the tip of Odaiba Seaside Park extending into Tokyo Bay, is a historical site that was originally one of the fortresses built in 1853 by the Edo Shogunate to guard against foreign ships following Commodore Perry's arrival. It has been converted into a public park where visitors can see remnants like a guardhouse, gunpowder storehouse, and replicas of the cannons, giving a glimpse into the past.

The Delaware grapes harvested from April to June are especially popular for their high sugar content and juicy, rich flavor. The wines, carefully brewed using high-quality local grapes, have recently received high accolades in various competitions.

Such an interesting spot! At Shimane Winery, you can sample their wines for free, and they also offer affordable tastings of Shimane Wagyu beef. Since the area is known for its grapes, you’ll find all kinds of red and white wines named after local myths. Definitely a place worth recommending—don’t miss it!
