Takao Trick Art Museum

Located at the foot of Mount Takao, this popular museum attracts numerous visitors, including hikers descending from the mountain. It showcases optical illusion art that allows visitors not only to see but also to immerse themselves in the artwork.

Spread across two floors above ground and two below, the museum exhibits various artworks utilizing optical illusions such as perspective and human perception. Visitors are encouraged to take photos with each piece, capturing unreal scenarios like being attacked by animals, moments seemingly falling from great heights, or rooms where height perception is reversed. Additionally, there are sections featuring kaleidoscope art, curated by a renowned kaleidoscope artist from Japan, and installations where one's face is reflected in countless ways.

The museum's entrance sets an Oriental ambiance with an Egyptian theme. Numerous areas are designed with motifs inspired by ancient Egypt, including a maze reminiscent of ancient Egyptian labyrinths and an open terrace resembling a temple. Visitors can easily immerse themselves in the exotic atmosphere. The museum shop, featuring imported Egyptian goods like pharaoh statues and talismans, is also popular among visitors.
