Hashirimizu Shrine

A venerable shrine that enshrines the two deities, the hero of Japanese mythology, "Yamato Takeru," and his wife, "Ototachibana-hime." It is said to have originated when "Yamato Takeru" and "Ototachibana-hime," who visited this land for the pacification of the Eastern countries, enshrined a crown they had given to villagers in gratitude for their devotion, in a stone chest and built a shrine over it.

Known as a power spot expected to boost feminine energy because it venerates "Ototachibana-hime," who sacrificed herself to save her husband in dire circumstances. It is also known for bringing blessings of marital harmony, matchmaking, and good relationships, particularly beneficial for women. Within its precincts stand the "Memorial of Ototachibana-hime," erected by seven prominent military figures including Heihachiro Togo, and the "Rudder Monument of Ototachibana-hime," built to pray for maritime safety.

The shrine has deep connections with water, and its hand-washing area is fed by spring water from Mount Fuji, gushing from a depth of 30 meters. Additionally, the "Water Shrine," believed to house the deity incarnation of water, sits to the right rear of the main hall, welcoming visitors with kappa (water imp) figurines.
