Chano-Kiminoen
A long-established tea shop in Ameyoko, famous for its rich matcha soft serve ice cream.
A long-established tea wholesaler founded in 1918 (Taisho 7). The Ueno store, opened in 1946 (Showa 21), is conveniently located near Ameyoko Center Building, between Ameyoko and Ueno Naka-dori Shopping Street.
On the first floor, the shop sells carefully selected Japanese teas from various regions such as Shizuoka, Kagoshima, and Uji, all manufactured in their own factory. If you have any questions about tea, feel free to ask the knowledgeable staff. While exploring Ameyoko, you can enjoy their high-quality Uji matcha soft serve ice cream, which is also used in tea ceremonies. In addition to pure matcha soft serve, they also offer a mix with rich Hokkaido soft serve, which is highly recommended. They also have a popular paid tea service where you can choose your favorite tea and have it poured into your own bottle.
The second floor offers a sales corner with over 200 types of teapots and tea utensils.
