Last update :

Established in 1948 in front of Ueno Park, this sweets shop has been loved for many years.
Visitors can enjoy Japanese sweets such as anmitsu (a desert with agar, boiled beans, and fruit covered in brown sugar syrup) and oshiruko (a desert with mochi or rice flour dumplings in a sweet, boiled adzuki bean sauce) in the elegant, Japanese-style dining room.
The shop uses specially-selected ingredients, including adzuki beans produced in Tokachi in Hokkaido and brown sugar made in Okinawa, and the carefully-crafted sweets have a deliciousness that soothes.

Highlights

  • The attention to ingredients and recipes makes for carefully-crafted sweets .
  • Popular in the summer is their shaved ice, which comes with plenty of syrup.
  • The pillars use Japanese cedar and cypress, and the paper-clad light fixtures give a feeling of Japanese refinement to the interior.
  • Take-out is offered at the souvenirs corner.
